Who to succeed the Burkinabè Joël Meda ?
Answer to this question on the evening of April 8th on the tennis courts of the AAT (Association Amicale de Tennis) in Lomé. But in the meantime, it should be noted that the International Open Easter Tennis Tournament, of which Septime Dogbeh is the promoter, after two editions in the Beninese capital, Cotonou, has taken up residence in Lomé for its 3rd edition. This edition takes place from April 3 to 9.
Facing the sports press this Monday, March 27, 2023, the promoter and other members of the organization unveiled the main lines and innovations included in the program for this edition.
According to the explanations of Mr. Dogbeh, a fan of the little yellow ball (Tennis), the international tennis tournament, Easter Open, is above all a competition designed, "to attract companies to the financing of sport and in especially tennis.
Among other innovations, he cited the "Yannick Noah Expo" (from April 1st to 10th at the AAT in Lomé), the "Tennis Quizz Game" in collaboration with a Lomé radio station, the "Business Schools Tennis Academy" project of which he is the bearer, and the "Super Women Tennis Day".
Also, for a first in this tournament, it is the Ladies version which will have to bring together renowned players including the N°1 of Togo, Valentine Talaki.
Are expected in Lomé during this competition, Easter Open, players from ten countries, six of which have already confirmed their participation by sending the names of their athletes. These include Benin, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and the host country Togo.
By “migrating” from Cotonou to Lomé, for the new edition, Mr. Dogbeh intends to give a new dimension to this tennis competition which he hopes to run in the capitals of the various countries of the sub-region. A way for him to "create emulation between the young people of these countries which will host the competition, around tennis and contribute to the dynamic development of this discipline at the sub-regional level".
