What Waca-ResIP plans for the Lakes and Vo in 2024
The Program spoke about it with the press. Faced with media men during a working session with local press, those responsible for the regional program West Africa Coastal Areas Resilience Investment Project (Waca-ResIP), lifted a corner of the veil on what they intend to do against the floods in the prefectures of Lacs and Vo, during this year 2024.
This is a set of sanitation and protection measures. Information provided to the press and echoed by our colleagues at Togofirst, “the work plan provides for the construction of more than 4,000 linear meters (ml) of gutters of different dimensions to facilitate the flow of rainwater and reduce the risk of flooding.
And, we continue, that “in 2024, the cleaning of the existing basins and the protection of the banks of Aného, with the implementation of work on more than 2,000 ml of banks, will complete the interventions of the WACA, a supported project by the world bank, which also benefited, last year, from an additional envelope from the French Development Agency (AFD).”
For information, the West Africa Coastal Areas Resilience Investment Project (Waca-Resip) regional program aims to strengthen coastal protection and fight against flooding, with particular emphasis on ecosystem restoration.
