Togolese cocoa is strong in Amsterdam

Participating in the 2023 edition of the “Cocoa of Excellence” Competition in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Togolese cocoa once again stood out. For this competition which was held at the end of last week, Togo won a gold medal, a bronze medal and a silver medal. Medals which remind us of the successes already obtained in 2021, again by Togolese cocoa.

This competition essentially focused on an evaluation of 222 samples of cocoa beans from 52 different origins. And as a result of these evaluations, the country with its gold medal finds itself at the forefront in Africa and the Indian Ocean in this prestigious competition.

A score well praised by the Secretary General of the Coordination Committee for the Coffee and Cocoa Sectors (CCFCC), Enselme Gouthon, according to whom, “the results of this competition once again confirm the highly appreciated quality of Togolese cocoa. worldwide ".

For information, the Cocoa of Excellence Awards are an event that celebrates and highlights the quality and diversity of cocoa. They also promote the culture of excellence in this sector. They are organized by the CIAT (Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture), in partnership with the International Cocoa Organization, of which Togo is an active member.
