Minister Kokoroko’s expectations of the 2nd promotion of ENFPE

Across the national territory, the six teacher-student training schools (ENFPE) launched their return to school this Friday with an important message from the supervisory minister Komla Dodzi KOKOROKO who led the official ceremony for this return to school in Sotouboua ( approximately 290 km north of Lomé).
There are a total of 2,650 student teachers, including 1,450 girls (54.80%) selected following a national recruitment process to return to the 4 ENFPEs which train for primary education (Dapaong, Notsé, Sotouboua and Tabligbo). ) and the two other ENFPE on behalf of the preschool (Adéta and Mango). They thus return for two-year alternating initial training (2024-2026).
Surrounded for the occasion by technical and financial partners. During the ceremony, Minister KOKOROKO recalled the merits of this training which is part of the reforms of the education system initiated by the Togolese government, in connection with the Education Sector Plan (PSE) and the government roadmap 2020-2025.
“School is not a tent set up for sleeping. The future of the school and the school of the future requires initial and continuing training. FOR THAT ? The normal school gives its students a uniform for life. And any education system that reduces initial training has no future…” he declared.
In the 6 ENFPE, the back-to-school ceremony was coupled with the provision of laptops and videoconferencing equipment with the aim of contributing to the integration of ICT in teaching with a view to strengthening learning and improving computer performance.
This reform within the education system was presented in detail through a communication made by the human resources department of MEPST. Students, teaching staff and guests learned about the relevant analyzes which led the Togolese government to place emphasis on the initial training of teachers in dedicated structures such as the ENFPE. It appears that this is an institutional reform which aims to strengthen the major role of the teacher in the acquisition of real skills for students.
To be more masters than the masters !
In particular, the student teachers were also entitled to communication which allowed them to better understand the issues and reforms of the Togolese education system, in particular the initial training of preschool and primary school teachers.
All the necessary conditions are therefore met for the good training of these young girls and boys.
“You are fighters for education, excellence and the homeland. I therefore send you back to your duties as apprentice students knowing that you will be more masters than the masters ! », Launched Minister KOKOROKO towards them.
The ceremony closed with a presentation of laptops and videoconferencing equipment with the aim of contributing to the integration of ICT in teaching with a view to strengthening learning and improving computer performance. As in Sotouboua, the same handover also took place in the five other ENFPE.
