It is article 225 of the Electoral Code which attests to this relief from which female candidates must benefit in these coupled elections which take place on April 13.

Indeed, while the candidates (Men) will have to pay the sum of 500,000 CFA francs as a deposit for the legislative elections, and 200,000 CFA francs for the Regional elections, women will have to deposit as a deposit, half of these sums indicated.

Thus, candidates for deputy positions will pay 250,000 CFA francs as a deposit, while those for the Regional elections will release 100,000 CFA francs.

This provision can be understood as a desire to encourage female candidates for elected positions in the country.
